The artist Polina Nikolayeva is a graduate of the well-known Abramtsevo art school of Russia, located just north of Moscow in the small town of Khotkovo. She is considered to be as one of the modern Matryoshka authors, who attempts to use the Matryoshka to tell many types of stories.
