A Russian Lacquer Box handpainted by Palekh artist Krasnov Palekh is the second oldest of the the four schools of lacquer box painting. This box is of one of the famous fairytales "Thumbelina" and has very fine detail. Thumbelina is riding on the bird and all her animal friends are greeting heras she comes to the castle in the background. The box also features the black background palekh is famous for. The box is signed by the artist Krasnov and is 5.25 x 5.25 x 1.25 inches (1 inch = 2.5 cm). The box is in shape of a shell and is an amazing piece of art.
