This excellent piece was painted by Tkachyova.  The Egg is 7 inches tall and 5 inches in diameter, its base is 4 inches at the bottom and 5 inches tall.  The artist has reproduced the image by Simon Ushakov's Icon, which is on display at the Moscow Kremlin Museum, State Armory.  This original Icon was of the 2nd half of the 17th century.  A photo of the original is displayed with the Egg.
