This is a lacquer box by S. Kovaleva of Kholui.  She has created an excellent work of art, by putting you into the depths of the underworld. The colors, with mother-of-pearl background, are breath taking.  Her talent is one of rare knowledge.  The Mermaid is in deep thought as she enjoys her underworld kingdom.  More photos available upon request.
