This very large lacquer box created by Sergeev of Fedoskino has as its subject Cossacks.  This is a reproduction of a very famous painting, by Ludwik Gedlek, that recently sold for over $40,000.  Sergeev has created the every detail and color of the original.  Each of the characters, horse or buildings are so well represented that it seems you are looking into the gathering, as they prepare to return to battle.
