This box painted by Olisova may be a fine New Year present. It shows Santa Claus making presents for children. The room of his Lapland house is filled with a great number of various toys, and each of them is painted in minute details. Brilliant gold metal leaf shines through the shirt of Santa Claus, through the dress of the doll he is making at the depicted moment, and through some of the objects painted on the table. Bright red and blue spangles create a beautiful shimmering of the doll's dress, and of one of the toys painted on the table. Gold paint is used to enhance some details.
The scene is framed with nice gold ornaments. The box's exterior is covered with brown lacquer mixed with gold powder. The interior is traditionally red.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, and the village of Fedoskino.
An excellent artist, Larisa Olisova of Fedoskino, presents her work of "Santa and His Workshop". This has a very happy Santa with toys on shelves, in the background. Color and details are excellent. All the photos do not express the true details of this work.
