About Us

In 1994, we traveled through Russia, visiting Kiev, Moscow, and St. Petersburg. While soaking in the culture and browsing through different shops where nesting dolls and lacquer boxes were displayed, we decided to buy these works of art for our own enjoyment.

Wishing to bring these beautiful pieces to the U.S. public, in 1995, we began to buy and sell on a larger scale to share our new found passion and treasures. Our goals are to purchase the work from an artist at the price the artist asks and to furnish the customer with the item they desire at a price they can afford.

R&L, Ltd. differs from other import companies because we strive to offer the collector, as well as the beginner, a broader choice of new artists, a wide selection of themes and styles, and better pricing and service for the Russian items and artists we represent. We make the collector's dream a reality by finding the work they are looking for or by filling a special order from their favorite artist.
